Kamilah & Carlos :: The Gastonian Bed & Breakfast:: See Jane Shop:: Savannah, GA

I had a great time this weekend photographing the wedding of Kamilah & Carlos Perry. Kamilah got ready at the See Jane Shop on Broughton St. I'm now obsessed with the place and can't wait to go get a facial!
The wedding ceremony was at the Gastonian Bed & Breakfast. This is the second client I've had to marry there, it is such a beautiful location. The reception was an intimate dinner at the Olde Pink House on Abercorn. The whole day was perfect.

Ben & Tiffany

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of traveling to Charleston, SC for Ben & Tiffany's engagement shoot. Talk about an awesome couple. Both artists (they actually met in a darkroom, which is adorable), they had so many great ideas--they were so much fun to work with! Can't wait until their May beach wedding.

Getting caught up

Today I spent the morning getting caught up on all of my photo editing. It's hard sometimes with a little one running around to ever get anything done, but I feel blessed that I am able to work from home for the most part.

I had a great bridal consult at Gallery Espresso with Miss Jenny today. So excited for their wedding, it sounds like it's going to be a perfect southern dream.

I'm still debating whether or not to sign up for the bridal show at the Savannah civic center again in February. Who am I kidding--I'm sure that I will, but decisiveness is not a strong quality of mine. For all of you brides getting ready for late 2011-2012 weddings, the show is Feb 27th at the Savannah Civic Center. It's an awesome show, and you will get a chance to meet and greet with all of your potential vendors in one spot! Hope to see some familiar faces!

Today's extremely creative, talented friend is Jaime Bilbrey. Check out her etsy site! http://www.etsy.com/shop/jaimebilbrey

Girls, if you like ruffles, she's your woman. This weekend she is going to be exhibiting her creations at the Chatty Crafty craft show in Chattanooga, TN on November 6th & 7th from 10a-6p both days. The show is taking place at Renaissance Park on the Northshore, and you should ALL go if you are in the neighborhood!

Here is some of her awesome clothing, you gotta have love for a woman who recycles!

Until next time. Keep it real.

A little more personal...

This blog is going to be more about showcasing not only my wedding & commerical photography, but also what I am doing in my own time. I have so many projects that I'm working on at once, that it's nice to be able to share tid bits with everyone. Since none of them are complete at the moment, I am going to dedicate these next few posts to some extremely talented friends of mine.

#1 Emlyn Strzempka

For all you brides out there looking for really unique, beautiful jewerly or headpieces for your wedding day, please check out Emlyn Strzempka's work, she is amazing!

If you are interested please contact me for more information, or e-mail her at strzempka@hotmail.com

Not only is Emmy an extremely talented artist, but she's also a great model.

These were taken awhile ago... before I was married apparently, so you can just ignore my maiden name on all of these photos ha :]

A couple 35mm B&W terrible scanning quality, I do apologize:

Busy, Busy, Busy

Hey ya'll. (I can say that now because I live in the south. For those of you who aren't aware, I am from Ohio, so humor me, I'm new at this)

I've been doing my best to get this blog, a Twitter account (FOLLOW ME! :] ), and my Facebook fan page up and running, so thank you to everyone who have been supportive and patient with me this past month.

Hope everyone had a great halloween! I decided to go as a flapper, again, this year. It was my first Halloween in the supposedly, very haunted, Savannah, GA. I had a great time, and I will definitely say that the people are pretty in the spirit of the celebration. I even YouTubed 1920s makeup tutorials--I know, I'm that weird. Not as weird as how long their eyebrows were.

Ophelia, my daughter: the adorable little girl who is randomly placed all over my webpage, went as a little lady bug, minus the antenna's because she refuses to wear anything on her head.

As for my husband, he wasn't in much of the Halloween spirit, he didn't feel like dressing up because he said there's no good costumes, so my goal for next year is to come up with the ultimate idea for him!

As far as my photography business is concerned, things seem to be picking up quickly. After the bridal show and some new advertising, I'm getting way more business than I had expected, given the short amount of time that we have been living in Savannah. I had calls from 3 brides today, 2 have already booked! I have been working with WeddingMapper.com and it's a great site for all brides, especially if you are planning a destination wedding!

I just finished up Jamie & Robbie Wallace's CD. I worked the entire day of their wedding, so I had a LOT of photos to edit, but I think they ended up with plenty adorable photos, so it was worth it! Such a great couple too, so that helped!

I've got a bridal consult tomorrow evening at Gallery Espresso, love it there, so grateful for the recommendation by Shannon Christopher :] (Check him out, so talented! ShannonChristopher.com)
Next photo shoot is November 13th, so I will be updating soon! Stay warm everyone!

Love,
Mackensey
